Managing Director of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr., has said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) must accept the verdict of the Supreme Court on the 2020 election petition.

He has advised the party to stop their call on the police to investigate alleged malfeasance during the general election.

According to him, President Nana Akufo-Addo has ruled for almost a year of his second term so it will be in the interest of Ghanaians if the NDC drops their allegations and focus on the next election.

“If the police investigate the 2020 elections, it's either their findings will prove that what the NDC is saying is true or false and if what the NDC is saying is true, what will happen in the country?” Kwesi Pratt said.

He indicated that when this happens, there is no way the NDC can go back to the Supreme Court since the court has already given its verdict.

According to the Managing Director of the Insight newspaper, the NDC and Ghanaians, in general, should go with the directive of the Supreme Court and drop all investigations related to the 2020 elections.

He made these comments on Peace FM's morning show, Kokrokoo on Friday, October 29, 2021.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) won the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections but the largest opposition party in the country, National Democratic Congress (NDC), refused to accept the results of the election on the grounds that the NPP rigged the election.

The Supreme Court ruled in favour of the ruling party on March 4, 2021, after a petition was submitted to the court by the  NDC.
