President John Dramani Mahama has made further changes to his government, reassigning two ministers and appointing a new Minister for Labour, Employment and Job Creation.
In a statement dated Wednesday, August 26, 2026, announced by the Presidency, Abdul-Rashid Pelpuo has been reassigned from the Labour Ministry to serve as Minister of State for Special Initiatives.
He is being replaced as Minister for Labour, Employment and Job Creation by Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum.
The President has also reassigned Deputy Minister for Defence Ernest Brogya Genfi to serve as Presidential Advisor on National Resilience and Emergency Preparedness.
The Presidency said the reassignments take immediate effect.
The latest changes form part of President Mahama’s ongoing adjustments to his administration.
