One of the released Montie three, Alistair Nelson, has revealed that he is now a member of the ruling National Democratic Congress(NDC) and his former party, the Progressive Peoples Party(PPP) and its Flagbearer Papa Kwesi Ndoum ‘can go and fall into the sea’.

Nelson, was at the campaign launch of the Parliamentary Candidate of the NDC at Krowor(Nungua) in Accra, Agnes Naa Momo Lartey and disclosed that the PPP did not treat him well when he was jailed.

Alistair Nelson, a Montie FM presenter Salifu Maase popularly known as Mugabe and Godwin Ako Gunn, were jailed by the Supreme Court for contempt after the threatened the life of judges on radio.

There were granted pardon by President John Mahama only after serving just a month of the four-month jail term slapped on them.

Much have since not been heard of the three, but it seems the pardon has initiated a switch in political affiliation.

Alistair Nelson said, “the NDC supported me while I was in prison at Nsawam while my own party, the PPP rejected me.

He added that, “I am now a full member of the NDC and left the PPP and their bad luck.”

He asked the public not to be deceived by any political party that they could do better as far as transformation of the economy is concerned as the NDC are the best people to handle the economy and have been doing so perfectly with Vice President Kwesi Amissah Arthur in charge.

He also called on the people at Krowor to vote for the NDC Parliamentary candidate, Agnes Lartey as she is the best they could have.

The launch was hugely attended by several Municipal Chief Executives, Members of Parliament, executives and party faithfuls in the region and beyond including the campaign coordinator of the party, Kofi Adams, Deputy Greater Accra Regional Minister, Mr. Isaac Nii Djanmah Vanderpuye, Member of Parliament(MP) for Ledzokuku Sena Okity-Duah and the Director of Elections of the NDC, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, who launched the campaign.

In her speech, the parliamentary candidate said the launch was very significant as it brought the party together to officially urge everyone to go out and campaign for victory in December.

“The occasion was also to inform the public that the party is united as my opponents during the primaries were present and are working together for the victory of the NDC,” she stated.

She added that, the presence of the executives from the regional and national levels give assurance to the people that they are not left out.

“We are telling the whole of Krowor that the NDC remains as strong as ever and marching on to victory in 2016 by urging people to vote for President John Mahama and the NDC Parliamentary candidates,” she stated.

“We engage the people in several platforms from the resident association level up to the people’s assembly which gives us the opportunity to listen to all the electoral areas and all the development programs are channeled through what they wish to see. This gives us confidence for victory as we are working towards the achievement of everything placed before us,” she stressed.

According to her, more than 60 percent of their programs have been achieved and are working towards perfection by doing the wishes of the people.

Before the launch of the campaign, she said, they have been to all the 141 branches, done door-to-door campaigns, engaged in ground activities to create the awareness that the NDC is a serious party that must be supported by all.

She is optimistic that the NDC would win by a vast margin though refused to mention the exact percentage adding that “providing a percentage would be an insult on the intellectual ability of the people contesting.”

Every politician she said sees victory when it is coming and certain the NDC would secure victory after the 2016 elections.

The Parliamentary candidate beat two contestants, Odi Emma and Daniel Alabi in July to contest in the elections following the resignation of Emmanuel Borketey on health grounds.
