The opposition National Democratic Congress will on Thursday celebrate the birth of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah with a solidarity march through some principal streets of Accra.

Officials of the NDC have publicly spoken against a decision by the government to observe August 4 as Founders day, contrary to September 21 set aside by late President John Mills to honour Dr. Nkrumah as the sole founder of the country’s independence.

In a release signed by Deputy General Secretary Koku Anyidoho, the party called on its supporters as well as socialists and progressive elements to  show up in their numbers to mark the day.

“It is a fact that Nkrumah never dies,” the statement said.
