New Lawra MCE, Alhaji Adams Muazu, reported dead

The new Municipal Chief Executive of Lawra, Alhaji Adams Muazu is dead.

He died Tuesday morning, his family has confirmed.

Alhaji Adams Muazu was confirmed as MCE on April 22, 2025 by the Lawra Municipal Assembly with 33 ‘Yes’ Votes and ‘8’ No Votes.

However, he was unable to fully assume office due to ill health following his confirmation.

Prior to his political appointment, Alhaji Muazu was a respected educationist. He served as the Upper West Regional Coordinator for Physical Education at the Ghana Education Service (GES) and had a distinguished career as a teacher.

He was an alumnus of Wa Senior High School and NJA College of Education in Wa. He later earned a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from the University of Cape Coast.

Alhaji Muazu Adams succeeded Mr. Jacob D. Dery of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as the Lawra MCE.
