The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has reiterated its commitment to equality, inclusivity, and national cohesion following recent remarks by Asante Akim South MP, Kwaku Asante Boateng, which the party described as “unfortunate.”

In a statement signed by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party said it “disassociates itself from those remarks” and reaffirmed that it remains guided by its founding principles of “freedom, justice, democracy, and equal opportunity.”

“The NPP’s doors are open to every Ghanaian, irrespective of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or social background,” Mr. Frimpong stated. “Membership and recognition in our party are defined not by identity, but by loyalty, commitment, and service to our shared ideals and the national interest.”

The statement emphasized that the NPP will continue to uphold the dignity of every citizen and promote a culture of tolerance and respect.

“We are a party of unity and progress,” Mr. Frimpong added, “and we remain committed to building a society where every Ghanaian can participate meaningfully in governance and development.”

The party assured Ghanaians that it would remain steadfast in advancing democracy and national development through inclusive and respectful political engagement.
