The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has reiterated its dedication to transparency, fairness, and integrity in all internal democratic processes, urging stakeholders to disregard recent comments made by its Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi), and Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe (Abronye DC).

In a statement signed by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party stressed that no individual, regardless of rank or position, has monopoly or unilateral control over the compilation of polling station albums. The party explained that the process is guided by established procedures and protocols designed to ensure credibility and fairness.

The statement also addressed allegations that the decision to hold the party’s presidential primaries on January 31, 2026 was calculated to favor a particular aspirant. According to the NPP, the claim is unfounded, as the decision was made after exhaustive deliberations by the National Council in the supreme interest of the party.

“The decision to hold an early congress is intended solely to give the party sufficient time and strategic advantage to reorganize, reposition, and recapture power in 2028,” the statement read.

The NPP assured polling station executives and stakeholders that it remains firmly committed to upholding the highest standards of internal democracy and electoral credibility.
