The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has declared its intention to uphold its bottom-up strategy in the execution of its upcoming internal elections.
During a press briefing held at the party’s headquarters on Wednesday, February 18, General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong presented the roadmap for the electoral process, noting that it will extend over a period of six months, from the polling station level to the election of national executives.
He stated that the process is set to begin on April 20, 2026, with the initiation of nominations for polling station roles, culminating in the election of national executive officers scheduled from September 18 to 20, 2026.
“The elections of our polling station executives will be held from May 10 to May 16, 2026. When we are done with the polling station elections, we will move straight to the electoral area executive committee elections, which will take place from June 10 to June 15, 2026.
“The election of constituency officers will be held from July 11 to July 12, 2026. After that, we will move on to the chapter and external branch elections.
“For the chapter elections, the opening and closing of nominations, vetting, appeals, elections, data entry, and validation of the album are expected to take place from June 20 to July 19, 2026.
“After that, we will move to the mother of all elections — the national elections — which shall be held between September 18 and September 20, 2026,” he remarked.
