OB Amoah withdraws from Akuapem South NPP parliamentary primary

Osei Bonsu Amoah, the incumbent Member of Parliament for Akuapim South will not be seeking re-election.

With just days to the upcoming New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) primaries on January 27, Amoah has withdrawn from the race.

Amoah who was seeking a fourth term in Parliament did not assign any reason for his decision.

In a letter addressed to the general secretary of the NPP, he said, “I write to inform you that I have withdrawn as a candidate for the election of a parliamentary candidate for the general elections in 2024 in Akuapim South constituency.”

“I respectively request that in accordance with the Public Elections, 2016 C.I 94, my name should be deleted on the ballot paper for the election,” he said.

With the withdrawal of O B Amoah, the race is now between Kwame Ofori-Gyau, Eric Samuel Annor-Mensah, and Frank Aidoo, the Municipal Chief Executive for Akuapem South.
