Okaikwei Central MP, Patrick Yaw Boamah, has urged former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Akufo-Addo to intervene and assist in stabilizing the NPP as it faces escalating internal conflicts.
He asserts that their involvement is essential for reestablishing order and cohesion within the party.
His appeal comes amidst increasing reports of internal conflicts and factionalism within the NPP, especially as it approaches its presidential primaries set for January 31, 2026.
The MP cautioned that the existing atmosphere of discord could further undermine the party’s unity if not promptly and effectively addressed.
In an interview on Channel One TV on Monday, June 23, Mr. Boamah emphasized the importance of the two former leaders, who have both successfully guided the party to electoral victories, in providing direction during this pivotal time.
"This party has produced two presidents. We are fortunate to have two former presidents alive," he remarked.
"I am urging them to take action and restore order within the party because this party is the one that brought them to power. If we are experiencing this turmoil, we request that they gather people together for a sincere conversation," he continued.
