Former Minster of Transport, Dzifa Attivor has come under a lot of critcism over comments she made at the launch of a group called ‘Ketu South For Fifi And Mahama’ at Wodoaba in the Ketu South district of the Volta Region on Tuesday that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) only targeted members of her ethnic group for prosecution.

Many including the Peace Council,  the NPP and former President JJ Rawlings have condemned her comments as tribalistic.

But General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia  has stated the attacks on Madam Attivor were not necessary beacuse since the comments seemed to be true, it was the NPP which must either deny or accept the claim made against the party.

In an interview on Accra-based Rainbow radio, he said it was only people who hate to speak the truth will be worried by the former minister’s remarks.

“Are people worried because Madam Dzifa Attivor was speaking the truth or not? If you hate to speak the truth, then you will continue to be worried … The woman said ‘vote for us because when the NPP come to power, they will jail all Voltarians’, citing examples … so let the NPP come out to defend themselves", he asserted.
