Policy Advisor of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Boakye Agyarko has said future under President John Mahama is bleak considering how the government has mismanaged the economy.
Speaking at NPP's Press conference Monday September 19 at the party's headquarters in Accra in reaction to the recently launched manifesto of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), he said it would be disastrous if Ghanaians allowed President Mahama a second term in office.
He said with the level of hardship, unemployment and corruption in the system Mahama, cannot be trusted to put people first as promised in their manifesto and must be shown the exit.
"The track record on employment under the President Mahama abysmal and Ghanaians must ignore infrastructure claims by Mahama as every government has built several infrastructure while in office", he stated.
He added that Mahama cannot fight corruption even if forced and he has been the worse manager of the Ghana cedi.
The President's manifesto he said preaches the high level of incompetence the Mahama administration and Ghanaians must consider their current livelihood and make the right decisions.
"Ghanaians can imagine another four years under Mahama, where more manufacturing companies would collapse and there would be no job for the youth", he stressed.
He added that, President Mahama's promise to revive broken down factories should also be disregarded as many of the factories were broken down under NDC.
He said, Mahama's mantra should rather be "Deforming Ghana, Deforming lives"as he is the worse manager of the economy and challenged Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur to attempt a defense of the management of the economy.
According to Mr.Agyarko, the President has destroyed any credibility inherited by his predecessors as he has no policy credibility and had to run to the IMF for assistance.
The right person to lead the country he said is Nana Addo, promising good roads, jobs, competent, incorruptible and selfless government. "Change is coming", he concluded.
The press conference was themed “Promises made, promises brokenâ€Â
