Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide, has described as wrong, the decision of the United States to strip former Ghanaian presidents of protocol privileges on visa acquisitions for personal purposes.

Kweku Baako Jnr questions why the US government would target the former presidents when there are only three of them.

The US government through its ambassador to Ghana, Robert Jackson disclosed to parliament its decision to strip top government officials, MPs and former presidents the privileges of acquiring visas to the United States for personal tours via state protocol. They would now be expected to join the signature long queues at the US Embassy for visas.

Sharing his thoughts on JoyFM’s Newsfile, Mr Baako said Ghana’s three living former presidents are highly respected and honourable men recognised all over the world. There is no reason therefore for the US to seek to denigrate them if it has issues with some others in our political landscape.

He called on the US to fine tune their decision to show respect for the country’s statesmen, especially the former presidents.
