Vice President, Kwesi Amisaah Arthur has asked National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters and functionaries to exercise restraint in the face of extreme provocation, instigated by rivals, the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The running mate to President Mahama who is seeking a second term on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ticket made the call in Lugo and Baliga whiles on tour in the Upper East Region.
He informed the gathering that the NPP was desperate for power having been in opposition for 8 years and were ready to do anything to sway opinions by playing victim while perpetuating dastardly acts.
It follows a near fatal clash between NPP and NDC supporters near Nana Addo’s residence on Sunday which was de-escalated by the Nima Police personnel.
The chiefs who hosted Mr. Amisaah Arthur expressed delight with government’s projects in the area. They however asked for roads being constructed in Wa East to be fast-tracked to make the movement of goods and people much easier while reducing travel time.
Ghana’s Vice President further asked the electorates to retain Dramani Mahama in power as president while voting also for Minister of Chieftaincy, Dr. Seidu Daanaa who hails from the region as Member of Parliament to keep his seat.
