The New Patriotic Party (NPP) will make history in this year's elections by winning between three and five parliamentary seats in the Volta Region, the party's regional secretary Joseph Homenya.

The Volta Region has been a huge waterloo for the NPP with the party winning  less than 15 percent of votes in five out of the six presidential elections which have been held in the Fourth Republic.

Though the number of votes for their presidential candidates has steadied compared to the earlier elections, parliamentary results has been abysmal.

Indeed, the NPP have only had a single Member of Parliament (MP) since 1992 in Joseph Kwaku Nayan who won parliamentary elections in Nkwanta North in 2004 and 2008.

But Mr Homenya believes the massive reception accorded its Presidential Candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on his Volta Regional tour which commenced on Monday, was a clear indication that things were changing for the better.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen, he stated that the love, support and enthusiasm shown towards Nana Addo by the people of the Volta Region is unbelievable and unprecedented and will certainly translate into votes on December 7.

"I know my people. If they are not interested in you, they won't come out to support so once they are out there, it will translate into votes".

According to him, Voltarians have compared the NDC governments to the Kufuor administration and realised NPP was far better than them.

"We'll make history in the Volta Region this year. I'm sure we will get about three to five seats", he predicted.
