We're praying for your husband's victory - Otumfuor's mother tells Mrs Akufo-Addo

Spokesperson for Asantehemaa, Nana Afia Kobi Ampem has endorsed the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo telling his wife, Rebecca Akufo-Addo that they were praying for her husband's victory in the upcoming December 7 elections.

Speaking on Thursday during Mrs Akufo-Addo's courtesy call on the Nana Afia Kobi Ampem as part of her tour of the Ashanti Region, the Asantehemaa Kyeame, Nana Akua Agyeman Kromo stated that “we’re in total support of all that you are doing. We are asking for God’s blessing for this country. As we support you, we won’t turn back. As for us, our statement is very short, we are for change. We are fully behind you and we know that change is coming. As you continue with your tour, we know everything will be successful. Just know you have our support".

According to her, the Asantehemaa, who happens to be the biological mother of the Asantehene Otumfuor Osei Tutu II, and her stool were solidly behind Akufo-Addo, adding that Asanteman was in need of a change.  

Mrs. Akufo-Addo whose tour comes just a few days after his husband left the region is expected to meet queen mothers of the various paramountcies in the region, as well as indigenes of selected constituencies, during her five-day stay.
