Who will be Ghana's First Lady or Gentleman in 2017?

At  the end of today’s exercise at the various 28,992 polling stations in 275 constituencies across Ghana, the outcome will either give Ghana a new first lady or Gentleman or retain the current First Lady, Mrs. Lordina Mahama.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mrs. Lordina Mahama

Mrs. Lordina Mahama will become the longest serving First Lady in our democratic dispensation. Lordina Mahama (born March 6, 1963) is a Ghanaian stateswoman. She is married to the 4th President of the Fourth Republic and current President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama
Prior to becoming First Lady, Lordina Mahama served as a member of the Parliament of Ghana representing the Bole/Bamboi constituency during the 2000s

 

Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo
Rebecca Akufo-Addo is a public figure in Ghana, known chiefly as the wife of the leader of the Ghanaian New Patriotic Party and politician, Nana Akufo-Addo. In 2012 she was a board member of the Infanta Malaria Prevention Foundation, which is a charity organization dedicated to the support of children.

Mrs. Yvonne Nduom
Mrs. Yvonne Nduom has been married to Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom since 1976. Mrs. Nduom like her husband was born in Elmina. She gained her Master's Degree in Education Administration and Supervision from the University of Wisconsin. She is the founder of Sterlin Management Services a Management, Training and Development company. She has provided Management Training Services to companies such as Unilever, Standard Charted Bank, Merchant Bank, Nestle and Ghana Airways. She is currently the Executive Chairperson of Coconut Grove Hotels.

Mrs. Comfort Mahama

Mrs. Comfort Mahama was born at Gambaga in the Northern Region. After teaching for three years in Ghana, she joined her husband in the United states of America where they lived for 14 years before returning to Ghana. She holds BSc in Pharmacy. She is currently the Superintendent Pharmacist and Managing Director of Comfort Drug Company Limited.

 

Mrs. Hilda Osei Yeboah

Mrs. Hilda Osei Yeboah has been married to Independent Candidate Jacob Osei Yeboah since 1996 with four children. She is a co- Founder and company secretary of Vital Source Limited (VSL), a procurement and logistics company focused on gold mining and oil and gas industry within West Africa which was founded by her husband Jacob Osei Yeboah.


Mrs. Preba Arkaah Greentstreet

Mrs. Preba Arkaah Greentstreet is one of four children of former Vice- President of Ghana Mr. Kow Nkensen, A dynamic, versatile and business-oriented woman, she was appointed the cooperate Relations Director of Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited [GGBL]. She holds a Masters of Laws from University of London.

Jeremiah John Rawlings

Jerry John Rawlings (born 22 June 1947) is a former head of state and president of Ghana. Rawlings initially came to power in Ghana as a flight lieutenant of the Ghana Air Force following a coup d'état in 1979 and, after initially handing power over to a civilian government, took back control of the country on 31 December 1981 as the Chairman of the Provisional National Defence Council. In 1992 Rawlings resigned from the Armed Forces, founded the National Democratic Congress and became the first president of the Fourth Republic. He was re-elected in 1996 for a further four years. He currently serves as the African Union envoy to Somalia.
