Asante Kotoko forward, Songne Yacouba, has earned his fourth Burkinabe national team call-up following his outstanding performance for Kotoko in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The deadly marksman is part of the squad announced by coach, Paulo Duarte, for the team's AFCON qualifier against Mauritania.

Yacouba, 27, marked his debut for the Stallions in an international friendly against Kazakhstan, climbing off the bench in their 0-0 draw at the Ortaliq stadium on May 12, 2015.

He also played in friendlies against Benin home and away.

Duarte's Stallions are home to Corentin Martins' Lions of Chinguetti at the 4th August Stadium in Ouagadougou on Saturday, March 23, 2019.

Burkina Faso sit on the third position in Group I with seven points, while Mauritania sit at the summit of the table, and already through to the continent's biggest football championship, with 12 points.

Angola lie second with nine points and play Botswana, who have been eliminated from the qualifiers, meaning that Burkina Faso need to win to stand any better chance of qualifying for the competition.

Duarte has thus assembled the best of players readily available for the West African country and included the Kotoko striker, who has scored six goals and provided as many assists in 15 competitive games since his debut on April 28, 2018.

Yacouba has been one of the standout players in coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor's side in the 2019 CAF Confederation Cup campaign, where he has scored two goals in nine appearances.
