Many Ghanaian players turn to live in misery when their career ends due to lack of investment and lavish spending during their heydays.

A few of them do not get good jobs after football and settle for miniature ones.

In a profession where retirement comes early, it is also prudent to invest heavily and get a comfortable life after the game.

 

Here are 5 Ghanaian players and the businesses they own


1. Asamoah Gyan – The Black Stars Captain

Arguably the most successful Ghanaian footballer outside the game. The "Baby Jet" boast of series of businesses.

He has invested his earnings into such businesses as event management, transportation business, real estate, boxing promotion, sachet water production, and others.

Asamoah Gyan recently acquired a license to operate an airline.



2. Derek Boateng – Former Ghana International Midfielder

Boateng is not known by many as a businessman but the former Black Stars player has invested in a hotel.

The hotel’s name is the Mandieta hotel. This five stars hotel has world-class facilities, including pools and gyms, it's  near Golf Park, Achimota .



3. Sulley Muntari – Former Black Stars Midfielder

Muntari 32, is a lover of cars. He has chosen cars and other motors for investing his money.

Now he is an owner of a garage in Italy.

Muntari's company is called 4FKmotorsport, which is into the selling and purchasing of cars.

4. Laryea Kingston – Former Ghana International

 

Probably the most popular number seven the Black Stars have ever had.

He is the brother of former Black Stars goalkeeper Richard Kingston.

After retiring this football star ensured that his investment into the field outside football now gives good profit.

He has invested his earnings into lands for further selling to real estate companies.



5.Tony Yeboah – Former Ghana Striker

One of the earliest Ghanaian players that sold Ghana to the world. Enjoyed success in Germany and England.

Now retired Yeboah invested in hotels and other businesses. He owns the popularly Yegoala Hotel
