The Black Maidens failed in their quest to make it to the semi-finals of the FIFA U17 World Cup after conceding a late goal to end their quarter final game 2-1 in favour of Korea DPR.

The maidens came on level in the second half through Gifty Acheampong after the Koreans took the lead through a penalty converted by Kim Po Ui, only for the Ghanaians to give the game away in the 94th minute when the game was heading to extra time.

The Koreans took advantage of the last free-kick of the game and Ja Un Yong headed home the winner after the Maidens failed to clear the ball in their area.

It was a heartbreak for the Maidens who fought so hard for the equalizer and were hoping to regroup and get the winner at extra time.

Korea would face Venezuela in the semi-final game.
