AFCON 2021: We can use our bench to qualify - Ghanaians react after Black Stars drawn in Group C

The Black Stars of Ghana have discovered their fate ahead of the upcoming AFCON 2021 to be staged in Cameroon.

Ghana have been paired with Morocco, Gabon and Comoros in C of the TotalEnergies AFCON 2021.

Coach C.K Akonnor’s side will play their first two matches in Yaoundé before travelling up North to Garoua for the final Group C encounter.

The Black Stars will take on the Atlas Lions of Morocco in the opening match on Monday, January 10 at the Ahmadou Ahijo stadium in Yaoundé. Ghana will then play Gabon on Friday, January 14 before battling Comoros on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

There have been mixed reactions on Social Media since the Tuesday draw.

A user said Ghana would walk out of the Group easily while another is of the view that the Black Stars would be eliminated in the first round.

The Black Stars are in search of their first Africa Cup of Nations title since 1982 and Coach Akonnor has been tasked to end the 32-year trophy in Cameroon.

The 2021 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled for Cameroon from Sunday, January 9 to Sunday, February 6, 2022.
