The Black Stars of Ghana will later today go head-to-head against Central African Republic (CAR) for a place in next year's Africa Cup of Nations.
Coach Chris Hughton will be hoping to get a favourable result when the Black Stars come up against CAR in their final Group E game in the ongoing AFCON 2023 qualifiers.
Ghana will secure qualification to next year's tournament with a win or just need a draw in the match which will be played at the Baba Yara Sports stadium today, Thursday, September 7, 2023.
The visitors however will need to secure a win to make history.
Speaking ahead of the game, the Black Stars coach said the team's objective is to be in the tournament to be staged in Cote D’Ivoire next year.
“This is our objective. We’re very conscious of what this game means. Not only the nation but of course myself, the players and everybody involved, they know what this game means. Preparation has been good, as with all international camps, sometimes you miss players through injuries and of course we are missing some through injuries but of course but it’s always an opportunity for others.
The match is scheduled for a 4 pm kick off.
