Andre Dede Ayew is set for a possible return for West Ham on Wednesday when they face Chelsea in the English League Cup.

Ayew who joined West Ham from Swansea for a club record fee of 20.5 million euros, played just 35 minutes for his new club in his debut against Chelsea in August after pulling up with a thigh problem while attempting to track back.

The Ghanaian is reported to recover ahead of schedule as he has already started training with the team and might return to face the same club that triggered his injury.

West Ham have struggled without Ayew and currently 15th on the league table with just 10 points despite the presence of their key player Dimitri Payet.

Ayew’s return would be a major boost for the club who would be facing a team that is beaming with confidence after thrashing Manchester United 4-0 on Sunday.

Chelsea also got to the Round of 16 stage of the League Cup after defeating Premier League defending champion Leicester.
