Ghana’s Black Star Coach has bemoaned the deplorable football pitch at the Tamale Stadium saying poor pitches across the country is hampering the advancement of the game.

The Black Stars are set to begin their Russia 2018 World Cup campaign against Uganda’s Cranes on Friday, October 7.

Meanwhile Albert Adu Ankrah, the Estate Manager for the Tamale Stadium says his unit is working on the Tamale football pitch in readiness for the Ghana-Uganda World Cup qualifier.

He bemoaned the one-month late notice given him to prepare the pitch for the match but reveled 90% of the work has been executed.

Mr. Ankrah noted that fertilizers have been fed the grass on the pitch adding although the pitch looks brown currently, on match day, the chemicals would have settled in to give it a green shade.

Meanwhile Tamale fans have requested a reduction in the GH¢10 popular stand charge so they could fill up the stadium. The VIP charge is reportedly GH¢50.
