Some selected lower division players in the country were taken through practical fundamentals of football by Deputy Captain of the Black Stars, Andre Ayew and West ham teammate, Ashley Fletcher as the Betway Soccer Clinic got underway at the Lizzy Sports Complex in Accra.

In all, about 22 players were engaged in the event aimed at assisting in the development of football in the country.

The players, Ayew and Fletcher, were assisted by some Westham officials who would also organize a workshop for about 20 local coaches in the country tomorrow.

The clinic saw talented young players display their talents and also share ideas with Ayew and Fletcher.

Speaking to the media after the clinic, Andre Ayew lauded the initiative by Betway to provide the platform for young players to learn and share ideas with professionals in the game.

“It is important to interact and share ideas and experience with the young ones in order to shape their career,” he stated.

He added that, the initiative would go a long way to inspire and motivate the players to give out their best to become world class footballers.

Fletcher on his part was delighted to be in the country and praised the level of passion displayed by the participants.

He added that, with the necessary techniques, world class players could be generated among the participants.
