Black Princesses confident of win against Uganda in World Cup qualifier

Black Princesses head coach Ben Fokuo says expressed confidence in his outfit to pick up the needed win against Uganda in the World Cup qualifier.

Ghana host Uganda in the second leg encounter of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier today, February 5 at the Cape Coast Stadium.

The team now holds a 2-1 advantage from the 1st leg in Uganda and Coach Ben Fokuo wants to ensure that Ghana record the double against the Young Cranes.

Speaking ahead of today's game, Ben Fokuo said his players are ready for the task.

“We have been preparing hard since we came to Cape Coast. We had a training match against Combined Forces and you can clearly tell that the girls are ready for the task ahead” Ben Fokuo told ghanafa.org

“We missed our skipper, Evelyn Badu in the first leg but she is back for the return fixture. The team is poised for action and I believe in them to get all maximum points” he added.

The Princesses have yet to lose a game in the qualifiers having gone three matches without defeat.

Ghana drew goalless with Zambia and beat them 1-0 in the 2nd leg at home during the first round of qualifiers.

The game is scheduled for a 3 pm kick-off at the Cape Coast sports stadium on February 5, 2022.

The FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup is slated for Costa Rica in August 2022.

Meanwhile, Nigerian referee, Patience Ndidi Madu Ndidi has been appointed to handle fixtyre. The renowned referee handled the Ghana (Black Maidens) versus Liberia match in March 2020.

The 33-year-old FIFA referee will be assisted by compatriots Mimisen Agatha Iyorhe (Assistant I), Beauty Kabeda Terah (Assistant II) and with Hannah Elaigwe (Fourth Referee).

Souadatou Djallo-Kalkaba from Cameroon will serve as the Match Commissioner while Senegalese Fadouma Dia Dia works as Referees Assessor.

Dr. Christiana Baah from Ghana has also been appointed as the COVID-19 officer.
