Ghana’s Black Satellites have exited the 2025 WAFU-B Boys Cup following a 2-1 loss to Ivory Coast in the semifinals on Sunday at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
Desmond Ofei’s side made a dream start to the match, with forward Benjamin Tsivanyo opening the scoring just two minutes after kickoff.
However, the Ivorians quickly responded with an equaliser before halftime, setting up a tense second half.
Despite dominating key phases of the game, particularly in aerial contests and attacking transitions, Ghana failed to convert their chances.
Ivory Coast capitalised instead, with midfielder Ali Kone firing home a spectacular long-range strike in the 69th minute to seal victory.
The result ends Ghana’s hopes of clinching the regional title on home soil.
Ivory Coast will now face Nigeria in the final, scheduled to take place at the University of Ghana Stadium.
