The deputy minister of youth and sports Pious Enam Hadzide says the bonus of players in the senior national team has been fixed at $5,000 because of the current economic situation in the country.

This he attributed to the dept accumulated by the previous NDC government and claiming the ministry of youth sports has a dept total of over GHC 50,000000.

"We have decided that for every qualifying or tounament game whether AFCON or World Cup the players will receive is $5,000".

The Deputy Minister added that, the government is making plans to adress the bonus issues of all the other sporting disciplines and will soon let Ghanaians know what every team, be it boxing, taekwado and athletics will earn as bonus.

Black Stars were previously taking $10,000 winning bonus and that figure was later slahed to $ 8,000 under the NDC administration.

They later agreed a new bonus structure ahead of the 2017 AFCON in Gabon which saw the team earn $5,000 per win in the group stage, $6,000 in the quarterfinal and $7,500 for the semi-final.

The Black Star bonus issue became the talk of town when the team demanded $100,000 as appearance fee during the 2014 World Cup.
