Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz is expected to announce Ghana’s final squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup today, June 1.

The team has been training in Cardiff since last week, with a provisional 28-man squad as preparations gather momentum ahead of the tournament, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Queiroz and his technical team have been closely monitoring players in camp as they finalize the squad that will represent Ghana at the 23rd edition of the FIFA World Cup.

Following the squad announcement, the Black Stars will continue their preparations with an international friendly against Wales on June 2. They will then face Jamaica on June 10 in their final warm-up match before heading into the competition.

Ghana will be aiming for a strong performance at the tournament and hopes to surpass its best-ever World Cup finish, a quarter-final appearance at the 2010 tournament in South Africa.

The 2026 World Cup will be Ghana’s fifth appearance on football’s biggest stage. The Black Stars have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia.

Ghana will begin its campaign against Panama on June 17 at BMO Field. The team will then take on England on June 23 at Gillette Stadium before concluding its group-stage matches against Croatia on June 27.
