Ghana’s Black Stars defeated Mali 1-0 in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday night.

Alexander Djiku’s 49th-minute header from a Jordan Ayew corner proved decisive after a tightly contested first half. Mali pressed for an equaliser, but Ghana’s defence, led by Gideon Mensah, held firm.

Head coach Otto Addo welcomed back Thomas Partey, Djiku, and Kwasi Sibo to the starting lineup, while late substitutions, including Kamaldeen Sulemana and Iñaki Williams, helped secure the result.

The victory takes Ghana to 19 points at the top of Group I, with two qualifiers remaining against the Central African Republic and Comoros in October.
