Black Stars handed tough AFCON 2017 group

Ghana has been handed a tough AFCON 2017  group which features familiar opponents Egypt and Uganda.

The Pharaohs of Egypt and the Cranes of Uganda are who are in the same Russia 2018 World Cup Qualifying Group as the Black Stars will be joined by the Eagles of Mali to make up Group D which will be based at Port-Gentil in Gabon.

The Stars' first match will be on January 17 against the Cranes, who held them to a goalless draw at the Tamale Sports Stadium in the World Cup qualifiers.

In other groups, hosts Gabon will be in Group A alongside Burkina Faso, Cameroon and Guinea Bissau.

Tunisia, Algeria, Senegal and Zimbabwe make up Group B while Group C includes defending champions Cote d’Ivoire, D.R. Congo, Morocco and Togo.
