The black Stars lost their 2nd straight friendly game in the space of two days as they were beaten 2-1 by the USA at the Connecticut Stadium in the United States of America.

The game which saw USA coach Bruce Arena use almost what looked liked a team B with the exclusion of Bradley, Altidore and Clint Dempsey still was dominated by the US in the early exchanges.

The Yankees were rewarded with a goal in the 19th minute when some fine work in the box allowed Dominic Dwyer to volley home past Richard Ofori in post to make it 1-0 to the USA.

The Black stars midfield and defence looked very unconvincing with the exception of left back lumor Agbenyenu. Coach Kwesi Appiah tried to rectify the weakness by taking off Muhammed Abu who was a mare passenger in the game, to bring in Isaac Sackey.

Goalkeeper Richard Ofori got away with what looked liked a first degree murder when he rushed off his line and brought down Dwyer but was only shown a yellow card to the surprise of many.

Rashid Sumaila who was playing as a right back for Ghana had to be hauled off the pitch and replaced with Nicholas Gyan in the 40th minute after failing to deal with the pace and tickery of the US forwards.

That Black stars soon found their rythm and were awarded a penalty in the dying embers of the first half when US left back Jorge Villafana brought down Frank Acheampomg in the box.

Captain Asamoah Gyan stepped forward but failed to beat Brad Guzan in post and that ended the half with USA infront.

Kwesi Appiah's half time team talk looked to have had an impact on his players as the second half begun brightly for Ghana with some neat play. Manchester City man Thomas Agyepong replaced David Accam at half time.

Despite the Black Stars quest to restore parity, it was the US that got their second on the day after Kellyn Acosta capped his wonderful with a low free kick to make it 2- 0 in the 52nd minute.

Ghana responded in similar fashion when Asamoah Gyan slotted home a beautiful freekick in the 60th minute to make amends for his penalty miss and Ghana were back into the game.

Coach Kwasi Appiah showed his determination to win the game by bringing on Lorient striker Majeed Warris for Rapahael Dwamena in the 66th minute.

Warris struggled a bit with the tempo of the game and Appiah threw on US based striker Kwadwo Poku for Frank Acheampong but Ghana failed to get the equalizer.

Police Officer Samuel Sarfo got his Black Stars debut in the 81st minute, replacing Jerry Akaminko to bring some stability at the back...The US team held on tightly to see out the game  for second straight win over Ghana after they defeated the Black Stars in the 2014 world Cup by the same scoreline.

Ghana lost it second straight friendly after being beaten by Mexico 1- 0.

Captain Asamoah Gyan perhaps will have some explanations for Ghanaians as to why he opted to take the penalty which he eventually missed after he promised not to take penalties for the Black stars again..
