Former GFA President Kwasi Nyantakyi has called on the newly constituted Black Stars technical team to give opportunities to young players.

The former CAF first Vice boss believes players who are above 30 years in the dressing room create unrest within the team.

We should resort to young players, football is for young players and I had this policy in WA All Stars (now Legon Cities). I always say that any player over 30 years is no longer a football but a politician coming to destroy your team for you with all sorts of agitations," Kwasi Nyantakyi said on GTV Sports Plus program 'Saving our Passion'.

"In the very recent past, each competition that we went with new players we did well, 2010 we went with 8 players from the U-20 World Cup-winning team."

According to him, he expected a chunk of the U-20 AFCON champions players drafted into the Black Stars for AFCON 2021, but that wasn't the case.

"I am surprised the 2021 U-20 AFCON winning team we did not promote 6 or more players into the Black Stars. We should have done that given them the confidence to play."

He added that the current GFA administration must resolve all of its misunderstandings with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and work in harmony for the good of football in the country.

Nyantakyi also implored Ghanaians to support the Black Stars and the newly formed technical team ahead of the 2022 World Cup playoff against Nigeria.
