The Black Stars of Ghana arrived from Cameroon on Thursday morning after their disastrous AFCON 2021 campaign.

The team arrived at the Kotoka International Airport today at 3:00 am after their first-round exit from the continent's football biggest showpiece.

The Black Stars having suffered defeat against Morocco and a draw against Gabon, the team were hoping to secure their first win against Comoros to secure a place in the next round of the competition.

However, Ghana were stunned by debutants Comoros in their final group game on Tuesday night losing 3-2.

The defeat has sparked a wave of anger and controversy in the West African nation with widespread calls for the sacking of Milovan Rajevac and massive reforms.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Youth and Sports says it is “disappointed at the abysmal performance and early exit of the Black Stars” following Ghana’s defeat to Comoros in the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON 2021).

It has thus summoned the leadership of the Ghana Football Association for an emergency meeting on Friday, January 21, 2022.

The meeting per a statement from the Sports Ministry is to“urgently discuss and make decisions aimed at salvaging the performance” of the team.

A statement signed by the Minister of Sports, Mustapha Ussif expressed unhappiness with Ghana’s performance at the tournament.

The statement highlighted that the team was logistically and financially equipped ahead of the competition, which included a pre-tournament camp in Doha, Qatar.
