The Ghana Premier League has got its first ever representative from the Upper East Region after Bolga All Stars won Zone One of the 2015/16 GN Bank Division One League.

Bolga All Stars secured qualification with a 2-0 win over Tamale Utrecht on Sunday in the last match to pip Mighty Royals  to top spot.

After 28 rounds of matches, Bolga All Stars amassed 54 points while Mighty Royals got 52 points with Real Tamale United (RTU) coming third points.

Goals from the top scorer of the club Noah Nii Quaye, who is also the topscorer in Zone One of the GN Bank Division One League with  twenty goals, and Tanko Hamid were enough for the Bolgatanga-based side to fend off Mighty Royals who had a superior head-to-head record in the meetings between the two sides.

Nicknamed the 'Stars of the East', they join Accra Great Olympics and Elmina Sharks as the promoted as the newly promoted sides for next season's league.
