The technical team and players of Hearts of Oak are expected to leave the shores of Ghana today, Thursday, October 21 to honour the second leg of the CAF Champions match against WAC.

The Phobians are expected to fly out to the North African nation for the reverse leg tie on Thursday via a chartered flight.

The second leg tie has been scheduled to kick off at 6:00 pm on Sunday, October 24 at the Stade Mohammed V. CAF has decided that the match should be played behind closed doors due to the COVID situation in the North African country.

The aggregate winner on Sunday advances to the group stage of the CAF Champions League which will get underway in February next year.

The loser, meanwhile, still has a chance to continue continental football this season, by dropping down to feature in the group stage playoffs for the Caf Confederation Cup.

Hearts of Oak hold an advantage going in the second leg in Morocco this week.

Isaac Mensah’s first-half strike on Sunday ensured Hearts of Oak have a leg in the ‘Group Stages’ of the CAF Champions League after overcoming WAC 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Samuel Boadu has called on Hearts of Oak fans urging them not to lose hope despite the club’s slim win over WAC.

He believes despite his outfit beating WAC by a slim goal, they will still qualify.

The former Medeama coach said his side have enough quality to make it to the next phase of the Champions League.

Hearts of Oak on Wednesday held their final training in Accra ahead of the WAC game.
