Asante Kotoko host Zesco United in a CAF Confederation Cup in Kumasi on Wednesday, February 13, and the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah, has urged Ghanaians to discard club affiliations and support the team.

The Porcupines Warriors engage the Zambian powerhouse, Zesco United in day-two of the group stage in a 1 PM kickoff game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The Minister in an interview on Kumasi-based Ashh FM lauded Asante Kotoko for reaching the group stage of the 2018-19 Total CAF Confederation Cup and called for support from Ghanaians devoid of club affiliations.

"I will congratulate Kotoko for making it into the money zone in the CAF Confederation Cup and I know things will work out perfectly for the team so we must all support the Management"

"We are pleading to all Ghanaians especially those in Ashanti Region to come and fill Baba Yara Stadium on Wednesday @1pm and cheer the team to victory"

"We must put our Club Affiliations aside and support Kotoko to win the game on Wednesday and if possible top the group after all the group stage games"

"Kotoko is representing the entire Nation so we must all pray for them to go far in the Competition and I believe with that, Ghana can regain the 2 shots we lost in the African Club Competitions"

"I'm appealing to all Ghanaians to come to the Baba Yara stadium in their numbers to scare and put pressure on the opponent".

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko management are embarking on a publicity drive that will see it go to the workplaces and homes of the supporters to remind them of the game and the need for them to show up at the stadium in their numbers.

Asante Kotoko will be looking forward to recording their first win in the group Stage when they take on group leaders Zesco United.
