Ghana defender Daniel Amartey returned to full fitness and made his debut for Leicester City in the Foxes’ 1-0 loss to Reading in an Under-21 Premier League fixture on Monday.

Prior to the clash with Reading, the 21-year-old had not played active football since December 6 when he last featured for his former club FC Copenhagen in the Danish Super League.

The former Djurgarden man was monitored by manager Claudio Ranieri as he lasted the entire 90-minute duration of the match.

Ranieri had earlier planned to use Amartey in the 3-1 win over Manchester City but after the player showed signs of match-fitness, he could well be lined up for an English Premier League debut against Arsenal on Sunday.
