December 18, 2016 has been settled upon as the date the 2016/2017 Ghana Premier League season commences.
The G-6 tournament involving the top ranked 6 teams in last season’s premier league will serve as a fruitful preseason exercise for most of the teams.
The transfer window begins from November 14 to February 2017.
It also emerged the league will continue to be played during the AFCON 2017 tournament, and will only break if league matches clash with Black Stars games at the tournament.
Accra Great Olympics, Bolga All Stars and Elmina Sharks are the newly-promoted teams to join the 2016/2017 season. New Edubiase, Techiman City and Sekondi Hasaacas were relegated from the top flight after the 2015/2016 season.
