Ghana Premier League club Medeama SC have declared support for George Afriyie to replace Kwesi Nyantakyi as the next Ghana Football Association president (GFA).

According to the Tarkwa-based club, the Okyeman Planners owner is the best man to revive the fortunes of Ghana football and have their full support in his quest to win the upcoming 2019 elections.

He has our total support in his quest to become the new face.

Medeama SC endorsement follows that of Kumasi Asante Kotoko who have also affirmed their support for the former GFA Vice President.

CEO of Porcupines, George Amoako at the ceremony of George Afriyie's manifesto launched insisted that there is no better person to come and steer the affairs of Ghana football than the former.

“We (Kotoko) are backing George Afriyie to become the president of the Ghana Football Association,” Amoako told the Press after Afriyie’s manifesto launch in Sunyani.

“He is one of the best we have in Ghana now and we have given him all the support to lead our football and bring it to the highest level.”

George at his manifesto launched in Brong Ahafo last Saturday disclosed that when given the nod to the President of Ghana football his administration will be anchored on transparency, introduction of IT to Congress, setting up a board to manage colts football, effective and strong match review panel and a host of others.

Mr Afriyie was among the six candidates who were announced by the vetting committee of the Normalization Committee to vie for the vacant Presidential position.

The GFA elections is scheduled for October 25, 2019.
