Ghana's Asamoah Gyan is 9th highest scoring active international footballer

Black Stars of Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan is currently ranked as the 9th highest scoring active international footballer in the world.

The former Sunderland striker has 51 goals for the Black Stars in 105 appearances and is currently the country's top scorer.

Gyan is ahead of ex-Manchester and Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie and former Everton forward Tim Cahill but 10 goals behind Messi who is 2nd.

Portugal and Real Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo is ranked 1st on the list with 81 goals.

Gyan currently plays for Turkish side Kayserispor and at 32, he is still playing for the Ghana national team.
