The Ghana Beach Soccer champions Sunset Club have won the Copa Lagos 2019 club title.

They won the title after defeating Gidi Beach FC of Nigeria 5-4 to win.

The three-time Ghanaian league champions who have dominated the local scene and produced key players for the national team Black Sharks, played their opening game against Nigerian champions Kebi Beach Soccer Club.

Buoyed by the record they achieved yesterday by becoming the first side to rack up 15 goals under 60 minutes in the Copa Lagos Challenge when they smashed Pepsi 15-3 Academy on Saturday.

The previous tournament goals record of 11 was set by the Beach Soccer team of EPL giants Arsenal in 2014.

The feat is even more astonishing because there has been no competitive beach soccer league in Ghana for over a year.

However, the three times Ghanaian club champions relied on a blend of experience of from key national team players and a few raw talents to upset their more fancied Nigerian opponents.

A new tournament total of 23 goals by a team was recorded by the Ghanaians as they won all their games in spectacular style.
