Ghana international Sulley Muntari has revealed why he joined Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna despite he had several offers from other clubs.

The 33-year old Ghanaian was handed a six months contract.

Muntari cited a number of reasons for joining the club with his former AC Milan teammate and now coach of Deportivo Clarence Seedorf being a key factor.

He also noted the club’s previous exploits in the UEFA Champions League that attracted him to Galicia.

"I had offers, but I chose to come here because it's a club that was in the Champions League," he explained.

"They have the DNA of a big club, historic and with a winning mentality.

"It was easy to choose because also there is an old team-mate here."
