Ghana risks missing 2018 Russia WC boat if GFA & Ministry do not heal – George Afriyie

After being held to a goalless drawn game at the Tamale Sports Stadium by the Cranes of Uganda, Egypt leads the 2018 Russia World Cup log in Group E followed by Ghana, Uganda and Congo in that order.

Egypt sits on top after defeating Congo Brazzaville 2-1.

Meanwhile Vice President of the Ghana Football Association, George Kwesi Afriyie has warned that if the fractured relationship between the Football Association and Sports Ministry persists, Ghana risk missing qualification to Russia.

“I have held some talk with the minister that he wouldn’t like it be said that under his watch Ghana failed to qualify to the world cup after Germany, South Africa and Brazil. He is a sports man so I know he loves the game,” he tendered.

Coach, Abraham Avram Grant after the drawn game noted matters off the pitch distracted his players but was happy who their efforts.

“The players gave everything, it’s not easy with the circumstance around but I will ask them to play better,” he submitted.

Carnes Coach, Milutin Sredojevic assigned the draw secured by his boys against the mighty Stars to good tactical plan.

“Uganda is working hard despite not having the quality Ghana has,” he added explaining in the last 3 encounters, Ghana has not been able to walk over their East African brothers.

The Stars have arrived in South Africa to honour a friendly match between the Bafana Bafana boys and their good selves. 18 players are reportedly on the trip.
