Gladson Awako receives Great Olympics 'blessings' ahead of Hearts of Oak move

Great Olympics board chairman Amarkai Amarteifio given his blessings to Gladson Awako ahead of his imminent move to Hearts of Oak.

The clubs two have finally reached an agreement of over a fee paving way for Awako to switch club to fellow Ghana Premier League side.

Olympics initially demanded $20,000 from the reigning Ghana Premier League Champions but has now accepted the latter’s offer of $15000 for the player whose contract runs out in October.

Speaking to Oyerepa FM in Kumasi, the Great Olympics Board Chairman confirmed Awako’s move to the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League Champions.

‘’Yes I have met him, I blessed him and I wish Hearts of Oak well in their campaign” Amarkai Amartefio told Oyerepa FM.

Gladson Awako is now subject to medicals before penning a two year deal with the Phobians until 2023.

Awako in a recent interview expressed his readiness to join Hearts of Oak.

“I am ever ready to join Hearts of Oak. I am a footballer and that is my work”, Awako told Atinka FM.

“If I feel moving to Hearts of Oak will help my career why not.

“Even Harry Kane is moving from Tottenham Hotspurs just to get the chance to play in the Champions League.”

Hearts of Oak will be hoping to sign Awako and register him in time for the Africa campaign in time. The club have until August 15 to submit the names of their registered players to CAF.

The former TP Mazembe midfielder bagged 6 man-of-the-match accolades, scored six goals and provided seven assists for Olympics in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League campaign

Hearts of Oak will get to know their opponent in the 2021/22 CAF Champions League today, Friday, August 13.
