GN Bank who are the sponsors of the Ghana Division One League have refused to extend their deal for the 2017/18 season.

The Bank signed a three year deal with the Ghana Football Association to sponsor the Division one league but the contract expired at the end of the 2016/17 season.

According to the Managing Director of the bank, Issah Adams, this decision came from the Board of Directors.

“We sponsored the second tier league for three years and it is over so our Board Directors have said we need not renew it after taking stock,” Adams told Starr Sports.

Football fans are wondering what might have influenced the decision of the firm not to extend their deal with the FA.

Meanwhile, a tentative date will be set for the commencement of the 2017/18 Division one League during the FA Congress in January next year.
