The Ghana National Petroleum Commission (GNPC) has cut sod to begin the construction of an Artificial Turf at Dompim-Pepesa in the Western region.

The sod cutting by GNPC was held on 28th August 2018 and will be completed in eight-months time.

The occasion was attended by Manager, GNPC Sustainability Division Dr Patrick Ofori, who represented the company's Chief Executive Dr Kofi Kodua Sarpong and his immediate boss Dr Kwame Baah Nuako.

"We want to thank GNPC for the great work. We will use this turf to remember what the government has done for our town. We should all come together to help the government to succeed." The chief of the town  Nana Kweku Nkrumah said.GNPC

The artificial turf will be fenced together with four floodlights and coupled with a standby generator to provide light in the evenings when there are electrical problems.

GNPC initially cut sod on July 6, 2018 for the construction of an astroturf at Bekwai SDA Senior High School in the Bekwai Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
