In order for the executive board to set specific timelines for an elective congress on March 15, the extraordinary congress of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has been adjourned to Saturday, December 17, 2016.

It emerged at a meeting held on Saturday that, there has inconsistency with the dates as the board initially proposed to have the elective congress on March 31, 2017 but members the date should be brought close in reference to the 2013 resolution passed by members.

As a result, it was agreed by consensus that the elective congress was held on March 15, 2017.

However, President of the Ghana Cycling Federation (GCF), Mr Sahnoon Mohammed proposed for the setting up of the Election Committee and a Disciplinary Committee prior to the elections.

This was agreed by congress and meeting was adjourned to December 17, 2016 where members will vote for three persons for the various committees and also the modalities for the elections given.

Secretary General of the GOC, Mr Richard Akpokavie was impressed with the decision as it would give the executives and members time to sort the issues out.

All the participants left the meeting satisfied and would be looking forward to December 17 where everything would be set for elections to be held.
