Ghana Premier League side WAFA have announced the appointment of Guillermo Hamdan Zaragoza as their new head coach.

The Spain international will replace Prosper Narteh Ogum, who left the club to take charge of fellow Premier League outfit Asante Kotoko.

The UEFA Pro license coach will be with the Academy boys until the end of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season, the club has said.

“We are delighted to announce the appointment of Guillermo Hamdan Zaragoza as head coach of the first team.

“Guille will be with us for the entirety of the 2021/22 season. We wish you every success.”

Zaragoza, who once worked as technical coach of Real Madrid Foundation, said, “WAFA is a very prestigious institution that has been very successful in the development of players in West Africa.

“I hope that I can come in and contribute to the work that has been done for over 20 years.

“I will mainly be working with the senior side so I will do my best to help them in this last phase of development.”

He has already started preseason with WAFA ahead of the start of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season on October 29.
