Hasaacas Ladies are champions after winning the maiden edition of the First Lady's Cup following claiming a hard-fought win over Ampem Darkoa Ladies.

Hasaacas Ladies emerged victorious 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw after a pulsating 90 minutes of action.

The Sekondi based team wasn't at their best on the day but did enough to win the first-ever First Lady's Cup.

 

Hasaacas Ladies had to battle from behind after going down in the first half. However, coach Yusif Basigi rallied his troops and equalized in the second half sending the game in a shootout out.

Ampem Darkoa's Sonia Opoku broke the deadlock of the game at the Accra Sports Stadium after sending the goalkeeper the wrong way on the 29th minute. They held unto the lead as the first half ended 1-0 in the favour.

Hasaacas Ladies upped the tempo in the second half drew level in the 67th minute. They proved to be a hard nut to crack for Ampem Darkoa Ladies in the shootout as they beat them once again in match.

 

Hasaacas Ladies FC have now beaten Ampem Darkoa Ladies four times in a calendar year; twice in the 2020/2021 Women’s Premier League and Women’s FA Cup finals, semifinals of the 2021 Women’s Premier Super Cup and First Lady's Cup.

Friday victory also meant, Hasaacas Ladies have won a historic 5th title in a calendar year after winning the WAFU Zone B, Women's Premier League, Women's FA Cup, Women's Premier Super Cup and the First Lady's Cup.
